Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager for our client based in Braintree on a permanent basis.

 

The successful candidate will be managing the quality, environmental and health and safety throughout the site.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for H&S Compliance
  • Responsible for H&S Tool Box Talks, Risk Assessment etc.
  • Responsible for leading H&S Committee meeting including Agenda and Minute taking.
  • Responsible for Maintaining ISO 9001 Accreditation
  • Complete a monthly Directors report (when requested).
  • Attend weekly H&S meetings with Director in charge and act on improvements required but also positively engage in the process.
  • Attend SHIFT Meetings 3-4 times per year (Midlands)
  • To be conversant with all related aspects of current health & safety, and environmental standard requirements.
  • Produce, review and update where required training toolbox talks, covering all aspects of the manufacturing processes and others non-related.
  • Produce, review and update where required risk assessments, covering all aspects of the manufacturing processes and others non-related.
  • Review PPE/RPE and assist in the implementation of any identified improvements.
  • Carry out regular health and safety audits and act on any improvements required.
  • Carry out regular audits of the ISO9001: 2015 based QMS.
  • Administer and maintain the QMS in conjunction with Directors and Managers.
  • Administer and maintain the calibration systems in place and carry out the physical calibration of measuring equipment: Micrometres, Vernier Callipers, etc. Arrange for any external calibration required to be carried out.
  • Arrange and administer annual occupational health checks with the external provider.
  • Arrange for external training (H&S) to be carried out when required.
  • Prepare agendas and write up the minutes for the regular Management Review and Safety Health and Environment meetings.
  • Arrange for emissions and working air quality testing to be carried out by an external provider and report on any findings.
  • Carry out health and safety related inductions for all new employees.
  • Engagement and liaison with sub-contractors, service operators and insurance inspectors.
  • Management of staff overalls.
  • Provide feedback to Senior Managers and Directors as required.
  • Work to provide results in a timely manner in accordance with planned dates/times.
  • Review Accidents and Near Miss Reports, where necessary, investigate and report to Directors any appropriate actions required.
  • Regular review of ‘Tool Box Talks’ and issue updates to staff required.
  • Updating company ‘Mind Map’ with current documents.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ideally, Lead or internal audit certification in ISO9001 :2015, ISO14001 :2015 and OHSAS18001/ISO45001
  • Management or Supervisory Training e.g., ILM level 3 or above
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Ideally, 5+ years’ experience working within a Health & Safety Role.
  • Ideally, 5+ years’ experience working within a Quality Assurance Role.
  • Experience 5+ years of team working (2 or more people).
  • Ideally have 5 GCSE’s including Maths & English and Science (C or above).
  • A good working knowledge of Windows and MS Office
    • MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel most importantly.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Strong team working and interpersonal skills but also able to work on your own initiative.
  • Organised and tidy.
  • Ability to learn as you go.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Common sense.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm.

In return our client offers a salary of up to £35,000 – £42,000 per annum depending on experience and free on-site parking.
